Bongs
Bongs

A bong is a smoking device, generally used to smoke cannabis, tobacco, or other substances. A bong may be constructed from any air- and water-tight vessel by adding a screened bowl and stem apparatus (a slide). The word bong is an adaptation of the Thai word baung, a cylindrical wooden tube, pipe, or container cut from bamboo, and which also refers to the bong used for smoking. Bongs have been in use by the Hmong, in Laos and Thailand, for centuries. One of the earliest recorded uses of the word in the West is the McFarland Thai-English Dictionary, published in 1944, which describes one of the meanings of bong in the Thai language as, "a bamboo waterpipe for smoking kancha, tree, hashish, or the hemp-plant." A January 1971 issue of the Marijuana Review also used the term.

Chillums
Chillums

A chillum, or chilam, is a pipe used by sadhus (wandering Hindu monks), Rastafarians to smoke cannabis, tobacco, etc. The chillum is a conical pipe which has been used since at least the 18th century as pipes by Sadhus in India to smoke cannabis. They have also recently been used by Rastafarians in reasoning sessions and grounations.
Rastafari Ceremony
In the Rastafari ceremony, the ritual chillum used is made of a cow's horn or conical wood piece, fitted with a long drawtube giving smoke and vapors time to cool down before reaching a user's windpipe. The chillum is sometimes referred to as a chalice based on a quote from the Biblical book of Deuteronomy. Thanks and praises are offered to Jah (God) before the chillum is smoked.

An herb grinder is made to grind herbs and spices into small pieces, so they can be added to food and eaten. Some types of herb grinders are very good at grinding marijuana buds into smaller size particles. The smaller particles of marijuana are suitable for rolling into a joint, smoking in a pipe or vaporizer, sieving to produce hashish, or for some purpose that requires finely ground marijuana. Herb grinders used to prepare marijuana are also called bud grinders. After properly grinding marijuana with an herb grinder, it will burn more evenly when rolled into a joint. And because it is broken down into small particles, it will not poke holes in rolling paper. Grinders

Smoking pipes Smoking pipes, sometimes called pieces or bowls, can be made of blown glass, wood, ceramic, borosilicate, stone, or metal fittings. Blown-glass pipes and bongs are often intricately and colorfully designed, and can contain materials that change color or become more vivid with repeated use. A screen is added to prevent drawing small particles ("scoobs") down to clog the channel.

Vaporizers
Vaporizers

A vaporizer (or vapouriser) is a device, or in some cases a modular "system" of assembled "vaporization tools," used to extract and deliver via inhalation the active ingredients of plant material, commonly cannabis, tobacco, or any of many other herbs or blends (phyto-inhalation; see also: aromatherapy). Vaporization is an alternative to smoking. Rather than burning the herb, which produces irritating, toxic, and carcinogenic by-products, a vaporizer heats the material in a partial vacuum so that the active compounds contained in the plant boil off into a vapor. No combustion occurs, so no smoke or taste of smoke is evident. The vapor ideally contains virtually zero particulate matter or tar, and significantly lower concentrations of noxious gases such as carbon monoxide.
